Carpe Diem Special #51, Kikaku's "the pheasant scratches it"

Dear Haijin, visitors and travelers,

A short break in all those wonderful episodes with music by Karunesh. Today another Carpe Diem Special with a haiku written by Kikaku, our classic haiku poet this month.

such a beautiful face
the pheasant scratches it
with jagged spurs

Pheasant

on the porch
cicadas fighting and singing -
a peaceful night

a peaceful night
on the shoulder of the breeze
the song of cicadas

Well ... have fun with this Special episode and be inspired and share your haiku with Carpe Diem.

This prompt will stay on 'till August 11th 11.59 AM (CET) and I will post our new episode of Carpe Diem around 8.00 PM (CET). That will be "The Day Begins". !! Kikaku's Pheasant is open for submissions at 7.00 PM (CET) !!

  2. Oh this was a difficult haiku to interpret... I read it a little ominous with those jagged spurs actually. Thank you for your excellent cascade.

    1. But ... you did very well Bjorn ... sometimes we need something a bit difficulter then we had hoped ... so we have to digg deeper into our souls to write a haiku. You did a great job on this one.

    1. You're so welcome Leslie ... I hadn't thought that this haiku was that difficult, but you have written a nice one and I have read all the haiku by our other haijin on this one and they were all wonderful, surprising and extraordinary.
