If I would like something else to use than I will ask permissions. So don't worry that I will use something which is not linked to Carpe Diem.Chèvrefeuillehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00848986700725789154noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8512327745848627452.post-74382083288202060222016-05-17T11:16:28.623+02:002016-05-17T11:16:28.623+02:00That's awesome !That's awesome ! In other words, if I link up a poem from my site to Carpe Diem then by all means, please feel free to publish it with full credit to the artist.

Anything I do not link to Carpe Diem is NOT up for consideration. I think this is pretty straight forward in that no one can go to my website and just help himself/herself to my work.

As for creating too much work. It may be easier if Chev simple posts a call for submission. That way all the poems come to him rather than him requesting permission to publish other people's work.

Publication rules and terms from other sites and journals etc vary greatly. The longest my haiku and tanka has been held by a publisher is 30 days. I don't know how it is for haibun journals because I've never written and submitted a haibun. Haibun is different in that it's a more in-depth piece of writing (for lack of a better word). It's not a mere 3 or 5 lines that comes and goes in a breath. A haibun is a story and I don't blame a magazine for wanting publishing rights for 3 - 6 months. Such a term keeps the contents in their publication unique or "fresh."

As the years go by, the deep seated desire to be published or "see my name in lights" has lessened. It's no longer about being published and I haven't submitted anything in about a year. I just don't write with that goal in mind anymore and I like that. The ego has given way to the pleasure of playing with words again.

Lollyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16526692343815904632noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8512327745848627452.post-72761641276227636182016-05-14T16:17:38.510+02:002016-05-14T16:17:38.510+02:00I love that idea! Whatever opinions are, I think if you would like to build a library you should go ahead. I also must say that you give yourself a lot of extra work if it is a question of "permission." These are merely two lines and are done out of passion, and are not people's "work."
I notice that on similar sites rules are tougher for participants: for example there is never a guarantee that people's poems will get published, and if you are lucky to get published in the emagazine on a haibun site they retain all rights to your work for 6 months - this is common, and stops people publishing elsewhere at the same time. So, getting published on Chevrefeuille's Publications is a privilege that is a rare one.
Kindness sometimes is interpreted in the wrong way by some who are a bit naive, and I just hope woth all my heart people understand that.Forest Batherhttp://haiku-forest.tumblr.comnoreply@blogger.com
