Carpe Diem's Renga Party 1 "In The Twilight

Dear Haijin, visitors and travelers,

I am excited .... we have a nice group of participants in this first Carpe Diem Renga Party. There were, including myself, 17 family-members who wanted to be part in this first Renga Party (new style).
Our beloved haiku originated straight from the Renga, a chained verse, in which several poets worked together to create a beautiful poem. A lot of Basho's haiku for example were once part of Renga, chained verses. And maybe you remember our "On The Trail With Basho" month (or the e-book) in which I told you several times that Basho participated in a Renga.

A Renga, as I will love to create here is a kasen-renga of 36 links. But ... there is (of course) a kind of strict rule. As we look at ancient kasen-renga than there were for example links in which you had to use kigo (seasonwords) like moon and in a kasen-renga there was always the whole year, in fact in every renga you will find all seasons.

Well ... let's start with this Renga-Party, here is the hokku (the starting verse) of "in the twilight"

in the twilight
mist creeps over the fields -
stars twinkle

© Chèvrefeuille

As you have read in the post at our Kai you have to follow the given "line-up" and please wait until the one before you has written his/her link to write your own link, because you need that link very hard.

Well ... I hope this Renga Party will be a success and maybe we can do it more than once ....

Good Luck and  have fun!

Chèvrefeuille

  6. Ok, I will try once again and ask Kristjaan not to approve my previous two comments because I will make one proper right now. I hope you'll forgive me because I'm still on a vacation and my mind is a little absent. :) All of you did a great job by making these wonderful pictures and giving me a really hard task to accomplish. I will also try to get closer to another topic. Good luck! :)
