Carpe Diem First Winter Retreat 2016 the kick off - find the silence

Dear Haijin, visitors and travelers,

Are you ready? Let us start the first Carpe Diem Winter Retreat, 30 days of writing haiku and tanka inspired on the theme "find the silence".

In this Winter Retreat I challenge you to write a haiku or tanka (this retreat I also will give room to haiga) every day for 30 days. For this new CDHK Retreat which I have titled "Find the Silence" you don't need to register, but please let me know if you would like to participate. This new CDHK Retreat will start on November 15th 10.00 PM (CET) and will run to December 15th 10.00 PM (CET).

Winter is almost ready to start at the Northern Hemisphere and that means ... cold weather, healthy weather, long nights, romance, Christmas, red wine, but also snow and frost. But ... it is also a time to meditate, preparing for the light of spring. The circle of life is always changing and all over the world we can see and feel that.

For starters ... or "kick off", a haiku from my archive "re-done" in a haiga:

I am looking forward to this new challenge, a new Carpe Diem Retreat, this time for Winter themed "finding the silence" ... I hope you will participate in it for 30 days.

This first Carpe Diem Winter Retreat, "Find The Silence", is open for your submissions tonight at 10 PM (CET).

Carpe Diem Extra October 7th 2016 - Carpe Diem's Winter Retreat "Find the Silence"

Dear Haijin, visitors and travelers,

I have a few announcements to make, don't worry, they are all wonderful I think. First I love to inform you all already that we will have a tanka only month next month (November). Recently I read more tanka, and I think this beautiful poetry form diserves my attention here at Carpe Diem Haiku Kai. I will create November around "Teika's Ten Tanka Rules" by Jane Reichhold (as published earlier here at CDHK in January 2016) and will try to improve your tanka writing skills. As you all (maybe) know I myself am not a great tanka poet, so for me this new month of CDHK will be a challenge too.

Than I have another announcement to make. You sure will remember our first Carpe Diem Summer Retreat. I will create a new CDHK retreat, but this time it's a Winter Retreat. In this Winter Retreat I challenge you to write a haiku or tanka every day for 30 days. For this new CDHK Retreat which I have titled "Find the Silence" you don't need to register, but please let me know if you would like to participate. This new CDHK Retreat will start on November 15th and will run to December 15th 10.00 PM (CET). For this Winter Retreat "Find the Silence" I have created already a special logo.

Than a last announcement, or more a question, ... Jane Reichhold was born on 18 January 1937 and I love to create a special CDHK episode on her birthday. Do you have ideas to make it a wonderful special CDHK episode in honor of her? Please let me know through the comment field.
