Carpe Diem Weekend-Meditation #30 Revise That Haiku ... Soen Nakagawa's "mountain peak"

!!! Open for your submissions next Sunday April 29th at 7:00 PM (CEST) !!!

Dear Haijin, visitors and travelers,

Welcome at a new weekend-meditation. It's time again to meditate and contemplate about revising haiku. This weekend I have two nice haiku written by Soen Nakagawa (1907-1984), maybe you remember him, because in our history (April 2014) we had a month in which we explored the beauty of his haiku in the Carpe Diem Specials.

Soen Nakagawa
Sōen Nakagawa  (1907 – 1984) was a Taiwanese-born Japanese rōshi and Zen Buddhist master in the Rinzai tradition. An enigmatic figure, Nakagawa had a major impact on Zen as it was practiced in the 20th century, both in Japan and abroad.

Here are the two haiku to revise this weekend:

one note of the shakuhachi
resounds endlessly
piercing the winter clouds

disappearing
snow on mountain peak
unfurls a Rainbow

This Weekend Meditation is open for your submissions next Sunday April 29th at 7:00 PM (CEST) and will remain open until May 6th at noon (CEST). I will try to publish our last episode of this month, desert, later on. For now .... have fun!

Share your revised haiku with us all here at our Haiku Kai. Have fun! Don't be scared to try ... because revising will improve your haiku writing skills.
