Carpe Diem #55, sadness

Dear Haijin, visitors and travelers,

Another day in haiku paradise Carpe Diem, a daily haiku meme. We are on our way to the end of this month. It's a joy to host this daily haiku meme. And I am looking forward to all your wonderfully composed haiku, senryu and haiga. I wonder if the prompt for today will deliver us with new gems and diamonds.
Today our prompt is sadness ... Sadness a strong emotion which we sometimes have to conquer. I hope today ... that you, my dear friends, can conquer this (difficult) prompt.

What a sadness ... this photo is titled 'the beauty of sadness'. Can there be beauty in sadness?
Yes ... I think so. When sadness is conquered love will return and bring new life and happiness.

This prompt will stay on 'till November 28th 11.59 AM (CET) and I will post our new prompt Full Beaver Moon today around 10.00 PM (CET).

Have fun, be inspired and share your haiku, senryu or haiga with Carpe Diem.

  1. A hard prompt Kristjaan, maybe doing it in November like this is tough with all deep grey skies. Love your last haiku with decaying roses.

  2. Great photo for prompt ~ and lovely expressive haiku for 'sadness' ~ ( A Creative Harbor) on Blogger ^_^

  3. I think I wasn't serious enough. Well- for the child it is very serious.

  4. I'm with Bruberg...the decaying roses top line write.

Will give this prompt some thought.

  5. I have been away for a long time :-) Glad to be back.

  6. I'll have to make a picture of decaying roses for other purposes. If it works out well, I'll put it on my blog. I'm happy that a had some time to join today as I still have a talk to give this evening. Back to roses. We've seen a guy with a rose in Kiev, who looked so sad while waiting for a young woman, who never showed up. A friend of mine already published a vignette on him in the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.

  7. So much emotion attached with this prompt -- several aspects could be addressed. "love slipped away through my fingers" reminds us ... time is indeed fleeting, and nothing can be "held onto" to stop it. What I started to do, and what I ended with was unexpected. Have a great remainder of the week, everyone!!

  8. This one was perfect so thought Id throw my hat in

  9. Damn, how did I miss this prompt !!

    Nice haiku :)
