Carpe Diem #639, Last Year (Kozo)

Dear Haijin, visitors and travelers,

I am happy to see that you all are here again for a whole new year of haiku-ing. I am looking forward to this year, but I also love to look back at Last Year (Kozo) and that's our prompt for today.
As I look back at last year than I can only say Carpe Diem Haiku Kai (CDHK) has evolved to a mature weblog with a great group, a great family, of haiku poets and that the haiku, tanka, senryu, kyoka and haibun have become even better. Of course we had a great last year not at least by Jane Reichhold whom has become a kind of co-writer for CDHK and than we had nice post and articles by Jim Kacian and Garry Gay  all great and worldwide well known haiku poets ... I am happy that they have given time to CDHK last year and I hope to continue those invitations to well known haiku poets all around the globe.

2014 Was, at least to me, a wonderful year ... let us hope that 2015 will bring us the same happiness ...

looking back
2014 has passed away
nice thoughts remain

This episode is open for your submissions tonight at 7.00 PM (CET) and will remain open until January 4th at noon (CET). I will post our new episode, the first "Carpe Diem Haiku Writing Techniques" and our first haiku by our featured haiku poet Iio Sogi (1421-1502), a haiku poet whom I recently discovered, a pre Basho era haiku poet, later on.

  1. Thank you for this one - interesting, I wonder who can get a special haiku out of this theme. I chickened out and went another direction.
