Carpe Diem Theme Week 3: Magnolia Blossoms, haiku by Soseki Natsume; (3) ginkgo leaves are falling

Dear Haijin, visitors and travelers,

Welcome at the third episode of our third Theme Week. This week I will introduce haiku written by Soseki Natsume to you. And today, I haven't a lot of time, I have a nice haiku for your inspiration and maybe the included image can inspire you too.

Credits: Kencho-ji Temple (Kamakura, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan)
The haiku by Soseki Natsume which I love to share here is about this Kencho-ji Temple and he wrote it in response on a haiku by Shiki, his contemporary.

these gingko leaves are falling -

A wonderful haiku I would say. Strong in its scene and very strong in its choice of the words. Here is my response on this beauty by Soseki Natsume. I wasn't inspired so I dived into my archives to find a response that fits the spirit of Soseki Natsume.

on his death-bed
he smiles as he sees the Gingko-tree -
