Carpe Diem Full Circle #2-2016

Dear Haijin, visitors and travelers,

Welcome at a new "encore" for this festive month. As you maybe remember I promised you earlier this month to bring three (3) Carpe Diem Full Circle episodes and I had planned to "aired" it yesterday, but time wasn't on my side so therefore I bring you our new "encore" Carpe Diem Full Circle today.

Let me first tell you what the challenge "Full Circle" means:

I call it ''Full Circle'' because the goal is to write haiku with the twelve (12) words I will give. It's a kind of word-whirl and you have to use the words given in the clock-wise direction. So every word has to come in the line of it's place on the clock e.g. rainbow you have to use for line one (1) and autumn for line two (2) and so on.

I will give you twelve (12) words (for every ''hour'') one word. The goal is to write haiku using the words as given in the clockwise way.

Here are the twelve (12) words, for every hour one word, you have to use this time:

1. rain 2. young leaves 3. buds
4. mountain 5. silence
6. monk
7. river
8. summer breeze
9. she
10. snow
11. sparrow (s)
12. blue sky

A nice series of words I would say so, but I also think it will not be easy to create four (4) new haiku with this series.

Let me give you an example of a haiku created with words 1, 2 and 3, and also in that order (as is the goal of the "full circle" challenge).

the soft rain rests on young leaves two buds open

Not a strong one, but its just to give you an idea what to do. After this first haiku (created with words 1,2 and 3) you have to create three other haiku with the given words. Good luck ... and have fun, because this feature is just for fun and of course for the challenge (smiles).

This Carpe Diem Full Circle is NOW OPEN for your submissions and will remain open until October 27th at 10.00 PM (CET). Have fun! Take your time, you have more than a week to respond.

Carpe Diem Tokubetsudesu #84 Back In Time "Carpe Diem Full Circle"

Dear Haijin, visitors and travelers,

It is Wednesday again and that means ... Tokubetsudesu time ... This Wednesday I love to go back in time, not very far in our history, but to somewhere in 2014. In that year I introduced an all new part of the CDHK family in which I offered you only Special features. One of those special features was "Carpe Diem Full Circle".

Logo of "Carpe Diem Full Circle"
In that special feature I gave you 12 words (like a wordle), but every word corresponded with one of the numbers on a clock. For example: 1 on the clock was "spring", 2 on the clock was "cherry" and so on. The goal was to create haiku with the given words following clockwise. For example: If "spring" was at number 1, you had to start your new haiku with a sentence in which you used "spring".

I love to challenge you today with the following 12 words which you have to use following the numbers on the clock, clockwise.

Here are the 12 words you have to use:

1. summer
2. princess

3. willow
4. oasis
5. palmtree(s)

6. camels
7. cruise-ship
8. snow
9. rainbow
10. yellow
11. shrine
12. prayer (or praying)

Willow (Bonsai)

As you follow these words than you can create four (4) new haiku. Let me give you an example with the first three words:

hot summer day
the young princess and her lover
hiding under the willow

I hope you understand the idea behind this challenge and I am looking forward to your responses. Have fun!

This episode is NOW OPEN for your submissions and will remain open until June 26th at noon (CET). I wll try to publish our next episode, Latvia, later on.

Carpe Diem Tokubetsudesu #52 full circle challenge "heaven"

Dear Haijin, visitors and travelers,

A new Tokubetsudesu episode for you. This time I love to challenge you to write a "Full Circle" series of haiku. I call it ''Full Circle'' because the goal is to write haiku with the twelve (12) words I will give. It's a kind of word-whirl and you have to use the words given in the clock-wise direction. So every word has to come in the line of it's place on the clock e.g. heaven you have to use for line one (1) and clouds for line two (2) and so on.

I will give you twelve (12) words (for every ''hour'') one word. The goal is to write haiku using the words as given in the clock wise way.
1. Heaven
2. Clouds
3. Palm tree
4. Fountain
5. Goddess
6. Desert
7. Jazz cafe
8. Duke Ellington
9. Summer night
10. Honeysuckle
11. Ancient road
12. Hill

If you follow the words clock wise than you can compose four new haiku. This new feature is just for fun and I hope you will as much enjoy it as I did have fun and joy to create it.

For example I have a haiku created with the first three given words: heaven, clouds and palm tree:

blue heaven
clouds gathering
a palm tree
