Carpe Diem 's Haiku Puzzler #2 the shadow of a crow

source of the image used
!!! Open for your submissions next Sunday June 11th at 7:00 PM (CET) !!!

Dear Haijin, visitors and travelers,

Back in May 2017 I offered you a special feature just for fun ... the Haiku Puzzler ... your responses and feed-back were awesome on this "just for fun" feature, so I decided to go with the flow and create another Haiku Puzzler for you to "wrestle" with.

In this new Haiku Puzzler I have scrambled five haiku by classical and non-classical haiku poets and spread their lines all over a nice summer image, however that doesn't mean that all the hidden haiku have to do with summer. I just liked the image.

As I did in that first episode of  the Haiku Puzzler feature I will give you a few hints for every haiku one hint.

Here are the hints for this Haiku Puzzler:

1. This haiku is an example of the “free-style” way of creating haiku by a contemporary of Shiki

2. The winning haiku of the “cherry blossom” kukai of our Haiku Kai.

3. Next to the frogpond the shadow of a crow.

4. Not a falling blossom.

5. Unconditional Love

As you have found the five haiku, please share them including the name of the poet or poetess through the linking widget.

Here is the Haiku Puzzler image for this episode:

Well ... enjoy this new Haiku Puzzler and link your solution to the linking widget. Have fun! This "weekend-meditation" is open for your submissions next Sunday June 11th at 7:00 PM (CET) and will remain open until June 16th at noon (CET). I will try to publish our new episode Yaks later on.

Carpe Diem "Make The Haiku Complete" (100) encore, just for fun. "dancing in the moonlight"

Dear Haijin, visitors and travelers,

As you all know I have several special features here at Carpe Diem Haiku Kai and sometimes I just have the urge to share such a feature to "trigger" your imagination and so I thought ... "let's do a surprise episode of Carpe Diem's Make The Haiku Complete.

The goal of this feature is to make the haiku complete which I am giving you. This time I made it a little bit more difficult, because I will give you only the 2nd line of the haiku and than you have to create the first and the third line.

On the ---- you have to create the first and the third line.

This "encore" is NOW OPEN for your submissions and will remain open until November 11th 10.00 PM (CET). Have fun!

Carpe Diem Full Circle #2-2016

Dear Haijin, visitors and travelers,

Welcome at a new "encore" for this festive month. As you maybe remember I promised you earlier this month to bring three (3) Carpe Diem Full Circle episodes and I had planned to "aired" it yesterday, but time wasn't on my side so therefore I bring you our new "encore" Carpe Diem Full Circle today.

Let me first tell you what the challenge "Full Circle" means:

I call it ''Full Circle'' because the goal is to write haiku with the twelve (12) words I will give. It's a kind of word-whirl and you have to use the words given in the clock-wise direction. So every word has to come in the line of it's place on the clock e.g. rainbow you have to use for line one (1) and autumn for line two (2) and so on.

I will give you twelve (12) words (for every ''hour'') one word. The goal is to write haiku using the words as given in the clockwise way.

Here are the twelve (12) words, for every hour one word, you have to use this time:

1. rain 2. young leaves 3. buds
4. mountain 5. silence
6. monk
7. river
8. summer breeze
9. she
10. snow
11. sparrow (s)
12. blue sky

A nice series of words I would say so, but I also think it will not be easy to create four (4) new haiku with this series.

Let me give you an example of a haiku created with words 1, 2 and 3, and also in that order (as is the goal of the "full circle" challenge).

Not a strong one, but its just to give you an idea what to do. After this first haiku (created with words 1,2 and 3) you have to create three other haiku with the given words. Good luck ... and have fun, because this feature is just for fun and of course for the challenge (smiles).

This Carpe Diem Full Circle is NOW OPEN for your submissions and will remain open until October 27th at 10.00 PM (CET). Have fun! Take your time, you have more than a week to respond.
