Carpe Diem #42, fountain

Dear Haijin, visitors and travelers,

Today our prompt is fountain a wonderful prompt I think. The fountain is an image for everlasting life ... fountains are always spraying their water ... ah that sweet sound of falling water. Can you imagine that?
Fountains are huge part of the Feng Shui, which is the ancient Asian art of object placement to bring good luck. Flowing water is said to increase the chi in any sector of your life, except for the Southern sector that is characterized by the element of fire. As the Southern sector also governs passions, recognition, ambition, and fame, you would not want to have a fountain in that area unless the fire element was overly strong or unless you genuinely resist the idea of being famous.
Fountains create good life energy in Feng Shui. This is called “chi,” which basically means “life force.”Fountains that are made of wood are said to attract the most chi, as water and wood support each other. The most popular Feng Shui fountains are made of bamboo flumes that fill up and then dump water. Sometimes this type of fountain is known as a knocker because of the smacking noise the bamboo flumes make when they have emptied their fill of water. This type of fountain can stand alone in any sector of your house.  

In the above picture you see a traditional bamboo-fountain as is common in many Zen-based Garden. This also is a sort of fountain.
