Carpe Diem's Seven Days Before Christmas 2015 #2 Silent Night

Dear Haijin, visitors and travelers,

Yesterday we started with our special feature "Seven Days before Christmas" and today we have our 2nd episode. This time I have chosen for the prompt "Silent Night". I think you will know this classical Christmas Carol and I love to challenge you all to distil haiku from the lyrics of this wonderful Christmas Carol. So you can say this is a special episode of our feature "Carpe Diem Distillation".

Here are the lyrics of "Silent Night" to distill your haiku from:

1. Silent night! Holy night!
All is calm, all is bright,
Round yon Virgin Mother and Child!
Holy Infant, so tender and mild,
Sleep in heavenly peace!
Sleep in heavenly peace!

2. Silent night! Holy night!
Shepherds quake at the sight!
Glories stream from Heaven afar,
Heavenly Hosts sing Alleluia!
Christ, the Savior, is born!
Christ, the Savior, is born!

3. Silent night! Holy night!
Son of God, love’s pure light
Radiant beams from Thy Holy Face
With the dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus, Lord, at Thy Birth!
Jesus, Lord, at Thy Birth!

(tr. John Freeman Young ca. 1859)

More about this wonderful Christmas Carol you can find HERE.

And of course I love to share this beauty in a video from You Tube:

I hope you did like this episode and of course I hope it will inspire you as it did me.

silent night
snow falls softly on the graveyard
our Savior is born
