Carpe Diem Haiku Kai is the place to be if you like to write and share Japanese poetry forms like haiku and tanka. It’s a warmhearted family of haiku poets created by Chèvrefeuille, a Dutch haiku poet. Japanese poetry is the poetry of nature and it gives an impression of a moment as short as the sound of a pebble thrown into water. ++ ALL WORKS PUBLISHED ARE COPYRIGHTED AND THE RIGHTS BELONG TO THE AUTHORS ++ !!! Carpe Diem Weekend Meditation #62 Troiku for the holidays ...
!! Open for your submissions next Sunday December 9th at 7:00 PM (CET) !!
Dear Haijin, visitors and travelers,
Welcome at a new weekend meditation here at our wonderful Kai. This weekend I love to challenge you to create a Troiku themed "holidays". We are closing in to Christmas and that means I will publish soon our first "Seven Days Before Christmas" episode 2018. You all know that's a kind of tradition here and ofcourse I will proceed with that tradition, but first ... Troiku for the Holidays.
I have ran through the episodes of earlier "Seven Days For Christmas" episodes and I found a wonderful haiku by myself:
piece of straw
blown off into emptiness
a new beginning
© Chèvrefeuille
The above haiku is inspired on a kind of meditation I shared in 2017 during our "Seven Days Before Christmas" feature. I think it's one of my best haiku ever (how immodest), because it has so much hidden layers.
I will sit back this weekend and let go my thoughts about this haiku to share a Troiku with you myself. Wish you all a wonderful weekend.
This episode is open for your submissions next Sunday December 9th at 7:00 PM (CET) and will remain open until December 16th at noon (CET). Have fun!

Dear Haijin, visitors and travelers,
As you all know I am busy with creating a special CDHK E-book for the holidays. "Christmas Stockings" is getting its form already, but there is still room for a few contributions. So this is the Last Call For Submissions for this special E-book.
I appreciate all your work and there will not be any kind of selection, except this one: the submissions have 'holidays' as theme and that means Christmas, New Year and all that has to do with it.
You can still submit your Japanese poetry until December 19th 10:00 PM (CET). Please send your contribution, your submissions to our e-mail-address: carpediemhaikukai@gmail.com Please write "holidays e-book" in the subject-line.
Namasté,
Chèvrefeuille, your host.

Carpe Diem Haiku Kai Seven Days Before Christmas 2017 #1 again peace
Dear Haijin, visitors and travelers,
Welcome at the first episode of our traditional countdown to Christmas feature "Seven Days Before Christmas". This feature I first featured here in 2014 and it became a tradition ... and I love to keep this tradition alive here at CDHK.
As I started with this special holidays feature I remember that I wrote about peace as an everlasting wish. In this time of year peace is always the main theme. We are decorating our homes (inside and outside) to bring happiness, joy, love, light, respect and peace into our homes and our neighborhood. Every year again we say "peace and love to the world", but that worldwide peace will be an everlasting hope, an everlasting wish, because all around the globe we see war, hate, terrorism and more sad things.
Every year again I write about peace, not only in this time of year, but ... again peace looks far away. I will repeat my wishes every year again until the world will be at peace and in peace with each other.
"Keep on wishing and hoping that there once will be a time of global peace. Let us, here at Carpe Diem Haiku Kai, keep that wish, that hope, that dream alive. Through our poetry we can give a little bit peace to the world. Join me in this everlasting task ... to bring love and peace back to our world. The world deserves it ... We can do it!!"

will bring peace
darkness will be defeated
light will overcome

Still six days to go before Christmas ... have a great week!
