Carpe Diem #338. Qi (or Chi)

Dear Haijin, visitors and travelers,

What an awesome start of this new Carpe Diem Haiku Kai month ... it''s great to read all of your wonderful haiku inspired on the music by Adrian von Ziegler, our featured musician. He has composed wonderful music ranging from meditative and relaxing to metal. He has a great ability to write music which, at least myself, touches people.
Today our music piece is called Qi (or Chi) and is caught under the name ''world music'', as did our first episode of this month.
Qi or ''life-energy'' is a commonly known spiritual thought as you maybe know. In traditional Chinese culture, qi (also chi or ch'i) is an active principle forming part of any living thing. Qi is frequently translated as "natural energy", "life force", or "energy flow". Qi is the central underlying principle in traditional Chinese medicine and martial arts. The literal translation of "qi" is "breath", "air", or "gas".
Concepts similar to qi can be found in many cultures, for example, prana and cit in Hindu religion, mana in Hawaiian culture, lüng in Tibetan Buddhism, ruah in Hebrew culture, and Vital energy in Western philosophy. Some elements of qi can be understood in the term energy when used by writers and practitioners of various esoteric forms of spirituality and alternative medicine.
Adrian has tried to touch that ''life-energy'' in his music. This following video is a one-picture video, but it is a strong picture to look at. So sit back, close your eyes and listen to Qi composed by Adrian von Ziegler.

And it inspired me to write this haiku:

in deep silence
sitting on the top of the mountain -
life energy flows again

Hm ... yes I think that''s what this music brought me ... I feel new strength ... new energy ... cool ~!!

This episode will stay on until December 3rd 11.59 AM (CET) and I hope to post our next episode, Crann Na Beatha, later on today around 7.00 PM (CET). !! This episode, Qi, is NOW OPEN for your submissions !! Have fun, be inspired and share your haiku with us all.

  2. I agree with Bjorn - they are tough! On the other hand, the music can take you anywhere you want to go!! I like the gentleness in your poem... so like the music!
